Tell us about the moment you found out you would be featured in the magazine. What was your initial reaction? I was surprised and delighted! This is my EIGHTH cover and feature for FHM Magazine.
Can you share your favorite shot or spread from the magazine and why it holds special significance for you? This entire shoot was special- it was done in Maui, Hawaii to celebrate my 40th birthday.
When you’re not working, what helps you decompress and relax? Besides the gym (which is the best mental health medicine in existence), I also love to hike and travel and spend as much time as possible out in nature.
What’s the strangest fan encounter you’ve ever had? A young man offering me thousands of dollars for a signed picture.
What’s the best “wardrobe malfunction” story that you can now laugh about? It happened during this shoot! I was having trouble keeping my dress in place when we were shooting in the ocean. It was all totally worth it, but some of these shots were not easy to get!
What are some of your biggest dreams you hope to achieve? I want to see my fitness coaching business, Thighs Over Thirty, eventually develop into a much larger resource for everything involved with aging well- skincare, hormone replacement doctors and therapies, fitness tips, you name it. When I was growing up, fifty was OLD- now, fifty-year-olds look like Jennifer Lopez (literally)! We are on the precipice of a whole new world when it comes to aging gracefully, and I intend to lead the charge.
What’s the weirdest beauty tip or trick you’ve picked up? Put toothpaste on blemishes. They’ll clear up overnight.
If you were stranded on a deserted island with only one accessory, what would it be? A device that would allow me to listen to music. Can’t live without it.
What’s your go-to guilty pleasure snack? Cheese. There’s nothing healthy about it, but it’s the greatest food on earth.
What is the absolute worst thing a man can do to completely put you off? Act like he’s better than other people. I have zero tolerance for it.
What advice would you give to aspiring models? You don’t need to be super tall, rail thin, or twenty years old to be successful. I’m living proof. Don’t let other people dictate your limits in life.
