Janet! It is an absolute honor to have you as our May cover, were you excited to shoot for FHM? Thanks. Yes, I was very excited to shoot for FHM.
For those that don’t already know you, Janet, maybe you could give a brief history of who you are and what led you to this point? I was born in 09/03/1990 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I am the second oldest among 4 siblings. I have 3 brothers. I played baseball when I was a child and then played some Volleyball in high school. At the age of 15, I went to a modeling school and participated in a couple of fashion shows. Then I went to the “First University of America College” to study Business and Administration then I changed my subject from BA to Nursing. I used to go to the gym 2-3 times a week just to maintain my weight. After moving to New York in 2014, I started to gain weight because of eating outside and not being able to cook due to my work schedule. Then I realized that I was having medical issues and started to run at 5:30am in the mornings and workout. I moved to Alaska in 2017 and continued my workouts there, as you may know, in Alaska there are not much things to do. I had 12-hour shifts and I used to go to the gym after work. I realized that my body was developing and progressing, my coach at the time suggested that I compete in a local show and I did. In my first competition, I took 3rd place in the 2019 NPC Arctic Muscle Fest in the Bikini Class. I weighed 115lbs at the time. A couple of months later, I moved to Los Angeles, California. I was very impressed when I went to Gold’s Gym for the first time. I had the chance to workout next to Arnold Schwarzenegger in the same gym. It was a great experience for me. I love Los Angeles and this is the place where someone’s dreams can come true.
We have seen you achieve amazing things in the fitness industry, not only are you absolutely gorgeous you are incredibly fit too, tell us a bit about your fitness journey? My fitness journey started in Alaska in 2017. I used to go to the gym as a lifestyle but had no intention to compete. However, my trainer at the time, suggested that I compete in a local show to see what my physique level was. In my first competition, I took 3rd place in the 2019 NPC Arctic Muscle Fest in the Bikini Class. I was very impressed when I went to Gold’s Gym for the first time. Then I started my prep for Muscle Contest Excalibur 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. I took 1st in Novice Bikini then Open Bikini and Overall Bikini. After the competition, some of the judges gave me compliments about my physique and symmetry. This increased my self-confidence and I decided to compete in the Arnold Classics Bikini in March 2020. I took 1st place in my class and 3rd overall.
You’re obviously in amazing shape, what is your fitness routine like? You seem incredibly disciplined and goal-oriented, describe to us what a typical day is like for you? Generally, I always wake up at 5:30am and do 25-30 minutes fasted cardio and have breakfast after that. Then go to Gold’s Gym in Venice between 6:30 and 7am, my workout lasts 60 to 90 minutes. I start with stretching and warm-ups, then I do my daily workout. Monday: hamstrings and glutes. Tuesday: shoulders, back and abs. Wednesday: legs and glutes. Thursday: shoulders and back. Friday: legs and glutes. Saturday: shoulders, back and abs. Sunday: rest. In the evenings I do a second round of cardio for 25 to 30 minutes. I eat 6 times a day.

What do you find the most attractive in a man? Smiling, smart and makes me laugh…
What do you like to do to unwind? Watching movies, walking with my dog and reading books.

What would you consider to be your biggest challenge as a model so far? I am a foodie person and my biggest challenge is having a competition diet.
Any final words to our readers you would like to share? I believe there is nothing that’s impossible, last year I went to watch Ms. Olympia Bikini and met my idols but who knows maybe next year I will be competing against them. Never let challenges or difficulties discourage you.
