What inspired you to start your career, and how has your journey evolved over the years? That’s hard to say what really inspired me. I would probably have to say women I have seen on big social media platforms or others that were even on TV of knowing if they can do it I can really do it.
What has been the most defining moment of your professional life so far? Probably making big magazines and googling myself is probably one of the coolest things I can do because I never thought of my life that would be me.
Who has been your biggest influence or role model throughout your journey? Honestly, I look up too many models in the industry. Everyone has influenced me in their own way and some I’ve loved their style and I want to make it my own. It’s okay to be like someone but motivate yourself to influence others with your own type of story.
What does a typical day in your life look like? I don’t wanna give you a false narrative saying I wake up super early in the morning, but there’s times I wake up in the afternoon and I just sit outside, take a breather and take on sometimes the gym or even going for a walk. Self-care and mental care is a really important thing that I highly recommend everyone doing. So that being said doing that almost every day can lead to a great routine.
How do you stay motivated and focused in a fast-paced industry? I just set up a vision board with my certain goals and I try to achieve it and manifest it the best I can. Even when I get tired or want to give up, I just have that little voice in my ear saying don’t give up your time will shine.
What’s your philosophy when it comes to balancing work and personal life? For me, it’s more of a time span. Just give yourself a breather after doing a major photo shoot or even been traveling for it. Time is everything to us.
What’s one thing you do every day to keep yourself grounded and happy? probably getting coffee in the morning and then just being with my animals because the littlest things like that make me feel very refreshed and rejoice on getting the good day going.
What are some hobbies or passions you enjoy outside of work? My hobbies are honestly just walking my dogs and being their mommy. I love hanging out with my friends and also love antique shopping. One of my favorite things to do during the day or sometimes even going to pet stores because seeing animals is very therapeutic.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Right now, I’ve been really wanting to go to San Andre’s Colombia , It looks literally like the Bahamas.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or song that inspires you? I don’t really have a favorite book or song that inspires me or a movie but some movies that motivate me with beautiful quotes always inspire me, but there’s just a handful of them , so it’s hard to pinpoint just one.
What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know? I’m actually from a small town called Poquoson in Southern Virginia , most people think I’m from a big city by seeing my photos traveling all over while also living in Los Angeles for 4 years right after high school.
What advice would you give to someone looking to follow in your footsteps? Have a creative mindset when coming to play with a photo shoot. Anyone can look beautiful in a photo shoot but having your unique style is what makes you stand out.
How do you approach challenges or setbacks, and what keeps you going? For me, it’s more of taking the L learning from it and moving forward, ignore the negativity around it while just motivating yourself that you are that girl.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your career? Don’t ever think you’re not good enough because you chose to have a certain look you want and not the look that everyone wants for you.
If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Be more patient and be more focused on what you want to do with your future because any bit of distraction or rushing can lead to the wrong direction.
