It's a Guy Thing

Kimberly Castle – Style meets Sophistication

It’s such an absolute honor to have you! Incredibly honored and excited to be a part of FHM!

How do you like to begin your day? My day always starts by waking up around 6:45am and taking my two Yorkies (Bruce and Mille) for a walk. Having a cup of coffee on the patio and completing the daily Wordle.

What’s the most exciting hobby or interest you’ve pursued recently, and how did you get into it? Paddle Boarding! With the temperatures soaring well into the 100s in Texas this summer, I was looking for ways to keep cool and stay active. I had always thought it would be a fun activity to try. I took the plunge purchased a paddle board and hit the rivers and lakes in the DFW area. It has been a great way to build core strength and experience the outdoors without feeling like it’s too hot!

If you could spend a day doing anything you wanted, what would your ideal day look like? If I could spend a day doing anything I wanted, my ideal day would look like this I would wake up early and go for a hike in the mountains to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery. After my hike, I would have a leisurely breakfast at a local café and would enjoy a cup of coffee, and read a book. In the afternoon I would visit a museum or art gallery to learn about history or art and culture. In the evening, I would go to a concert with friends and family ending my day with a walk to enjoy the lights and energy of the city.

What’s a project or goal you’re currently working on that you’re really excited about? I am excited to be stepping on stage to compete in my first bikini contest in 10 years. It has been a labor of love preparing for this contest since the beginning of 2023. Consistent workouts, clean eating, and working on my mindset have all been challenges in getting ready for the stage.

What’s the most memorable date you’ve ever been on, and what made it stand out? Going to a sporting event like a hockey or football game is always the most memorable for me. It is the perfect date in my opinion. It’s a great way to cheer on my favorite team, spend time with the one I love where we can talk without our neighbors getting upset, and, on the reverse, if we don’t have anything to say at that moment we have the distraction of the game to keep us entertained!

Are there any qualities or traits you find particularly attractive in a partner? What do you value the most? Open and honest communication is what I find attractive and what I value the most. Of course, being handsome doesn’t hurt either.

Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model in your personal or professional life? It is difficult to narrow this down to just one person and so I would say all the amazing women both personally and professionally who have been leaders in my life, taught me the importance of strength and resilience, have shown me the power of compassion and empathy, and have shown me the beauty in diversity and the importance of sisterhood! It is all these women who are my biggest inspiration!

What do you enjoy most about your hobbies or interests outside of work? I love hiking, biking, and traveling. What I enjoy most is the sense of relaxation I get from these activities and how they allow me to stay active, healthy, and connected to the rest of the world!

How do you find a balance between your personal life and your career? This can be a challenge since I work from home, and my work can easily extend into my personal time. I think it is important to set clear boundaries. This might mean not checking work emails or taking work calls outside of work hours. It also means spending as much time with my family and friends as I possibly can. Finding that balance in my personal life and career has been a journey. It has taken many years and a lot of effort to find what worked best for me to be happy and successful in both areas of my life.

How do you stay motivated and overcome challenges in your work? Never be afraid to ask for help. If I am struggling, I am always open to asking for help from my work colleagues. And secondly, rewarding myself for accomplishments. When I reach a goal, taking some time to celebrate the successes along the way helps me stay motivated and keep moving forward.
